screen template/layout

Hi Wrapper.

Do you think it's possible to make the settings for the windows manager (management mode, layout & gaps,...) restricted by screen/monitor ?
To be more precise, when using my external screen, having my settings (snap assist, specific outer gaps) different than when using my main macbook screen.

Thx anyway.

It would make the entire system too complex and the risk of bugs too high

OK thx, to make it more simpler for me: could you add a toggle for the "Layout & gaps" settings ? So i can quickly set it back when I use my external monitor ?

Is your setup using a gap of 0 on your laptop screen, while the external monitor is set to a value greater than 0?

on desktop mode, i only use my external monitor (45" ultrawide) and I use gaps because I keep a left gap to keep a column for my widget on screen. When I'm on the move, i use my mac as a laptop. So no more external monitor and I only use my macbook 14" screen. The screen being small i do not want to use gaps anymore to use all the screen for work (auto flow feels great on smal screen). So i Would have to set all the gap back to 0. Being able to disable it quickly would be great. Or maybe being able to save some template/layout (not screen related) could be great too. I could switch from a template/layout to another.

If I add a setting that lets different monitors use different gap, would that meet your needs? Management mode is too complicated, so it can only use one global mode.

I see your point of view. Your idea is good for me. If i can choose the gap for each monitor its great for me. But if you have a better overall idea, do what you think is best for your app. I just wanted to share my issue when using different setup for work. My current Gap setting are made for my daily use but my recent trip make me realize that if I only use my main laptopscreen, the settings I set for the gap was a not good at all. So I suppose I may not be the only one in this kind of situation. Anyway keep up for your work. I like you app and backed it as soon as you released it so.

To be more accurate, since I got my hand on my macbook coupled with an ultra wide monitor for my daily work, I tested different windows management So I could keep a margin on my left side to keep my widget column visible. And your app is the most efficient to that without having to build some fix and complicated layouts like I had to do with rectangle Pro. With your gap option, I can easily set a margin and use the full potential of your management system (snap assist or even auto flow). I like being able to build 2:1 window or a simple 1:1 window layout freely. That is a big plus for me.
