Currently, each tab in Tangrid's tab bar only has a Close button.
It would be useful to also have a Minimize button next to it, so that a window/tab can be quickly minimized without closing it.

I have to say that on a mac I find minimize close to useless since cmd-tabbing back to the app doesn't restore the window, so I always use hide rather than minimize (cmd-h) since moving back to that app restores the hidden window - if you are trying to get a Windows-style minimize, then hide is much closer than Mac-minimize.
Not sure where I was going with this since I a) don't think that replacing minimize with hide would make sense, it might be neat, but I suspect it would just confuse folk, and b) I probably wouldn't use it. I guess I'd say that if you add this feature, let us turn it off 🙂
That said, since a stack is just that a stack with somethign on top, pushing the current window to the bottom of ther stack might be interesting.
I get you. The only reason I was proposing this is that MacOS 27 has a serious bug that loses my desktop layout preference when I disconnect/reconnect my external monitor. I used to assign all work-related apps to one space and other apps to another through MacOS's "Assign to" feature, but this feature has not been working normally since one of the beta versions. One workaround is to minimize the apps instead of closing them, so they would always stay in their designated spaces.
Hiding the app is an alternative way to this, but it hides the entire app if it has multiple windows, which loses some flexibility in some way.
but I agree that it should definitely be an optional feature, as it is not a window-managing style everyone would use.
Have you tried Tangrid's workspace feature? It seems like it could solve your need to organize windows into a specfiec space.
I did, it was just not intuitive enough for me though. I could give it a try once more for a while and see how it'll go.
and yes, I've been pretty frustrated with OSX 27's spaces support, I have hotkeys defined for all 5 spaces, byt every time I add or remove an external monitor it loses all of my keybindings and I have to killall Dock to get them back. Very annoying.
